This curricular unit has the following learning objectives:
(i) Acquisition of the knowledge needed to develop the dimensioning work of Intersections and Road Interchanges (including the acceleration and deceleration lanes), allowing them to obtain the necessary skills to carry out this type of projects and their compatibility with the characteristics of the roads that connect them, including motorways.
(ii) Allow the student to understand the importance of the adequate interconnection of all project components in these special areas
(iii) Raise students' awareness of the influence of the environmental component on the decision-making process and on the adequate development of each aspect of the overall project, articulating each Phase of the Road Project with the corresponding Phase of Environmental Studies, which is essential to guarantee a correct selection of the most suitable corridor for the implementation of the infrastructure.
